SAT test writers have shown a surprising interest in basking sharks. The basking shark is the world’s second largest fish. It is a slow-moving, filter-feeding giant that eats plankton by swimming with its huge mouth open. Although migrating basking sharks are harmless to humans, their population is endangered due to over fishing and boat strikes.
