ENGENDER appeared on the first Digital SAT back in March 2023. One confused student guessed that ENGENDER might mean “changing gender.” Wrong! ENGENDER means to cause or give rise to a feeling, situation, or condition. SAT test writers have used this definitional connection to causation to create a significant number of challenging Module 2 vocabulary in context questions. Let’s take a look:
