My dual mandate is to help my APUSH and SAT students prepare for their upcoming tests. The following post illustrates ENUMERATE with examples from APUSH exams and a recent SAT vocabulary in context question. Here goes!
APUSH
What do the United States Declaration of Independence, the Seneca Falls Declaration of Sentiments, and the Students for a Democratic Society’s Port Huron Statement have in common? All three are foundational documents that include high ideals and an ENUMERATED list of grievances.
The Declaration of Independence ENUMERATES a long list of grievances against King George III. The Seneca Falls Declaration of Sentiments ENUMERATES examples of women’s inferior status that need to be rectified. And finally, the SDS’s Port Huron Statement ENUMERATES a list of complaints about America’s social inequities that will soon be addressed by a new generation.
Special note to APUSH students! Don’t neglect the SDS Port Huron Statement. Believe it or not, it has generated three sets of MC questions. That is actually more than the Seneca Falls Declaration of Sentiments!
SAT
ENUMERATE is an answer in the large and growing Scholarly Research cluster. Scientists, historians, and other scholars post their reports in academic journals. One way to evaluate the importance of a scholar’s research is to ENUMERATE other scholars’ references to that research.
