Fans of the New York Knicks are ECSTATIC, EXUBERANT, and ELATED – they are VERY, VERY, happy! Knick fans have a good reason to be so happy. The Knicks have recorded a historic 13-game playoff winning streak and a 2 – 0 lead over the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA championship finals. Game 3 is set for Monday night in Madison Square Garden. Let’s jump on the Knick’s bandwagon and use SAT vocabulary words to describe what to expect in Game 3:
INDISPENSABLE – Everything begins and ends with Jalen Brunson. The superstar point guard is the INDISPENSABLE captain of the team. He is elevating the franchise to a height it hasn’t seen in decades. Mr. INDISPENSABLE dominates games through unparallelled basketball IQ, elite footwork, and a lethal mid-range and isolation scoring game.
EXORBITANT – Madison Square Garden occupies an entire city block in Midtown Manhattan. The arena can hold just under 20,000 fans for basketball games. Ticket prices for Game 3 range from $6,000 for the “get-in” cheapest upper-level seats to $70,000 for premium, floor-level seats. Believe it or not front row VIP seats are selling for an astounding and EXORBITANT or extravagantly expensive $100,000!!! This price will not deter Knick superfan Mr. Chmiel. According to a now substantiated report he will be seated courtside next to Spike Lee!!!
RESILIENT – Spurs superstar Victor Wembanyama and his San Antonio teammates know they face a significant challenge. Just five teams in league championship history have overcome a 2 – 0 deficit in the NBA Finals. But Wemby insists the Spurs will be RESILIENT and able to bounce back from their current adverse situation. He firmly asserts the Spurs will not be intimidated by the raucous Garden crowd and will definitely “come to play!”
An UNEQUIVOCAL GOOO Knicks! Needless to say, Knick fans disagree with Wemby. They are absolutely clear and convinced that their beloved Knicks will prevail in Game 3. Here is a direct UNEQUIVOCAL statement from Mr. Chmiel – “GOOOOO Knicks!”
ECSTATIC, EXUBERANT, and ELATED – very excited and happy
INDISPENABLE – absolutely necessary and essential
EXORBITANT – excessively expensive
RESILIENT – able to overcome adversity
UNEQUIVOCAL – absolutely clear; leaving no room for doubt
