SALVAGE is making frequent appearances on both US and International vocabulary in context questions. SALVAGE means to rescue or save valuable things from destruction, damage, or loss. For example, deep-sea divers attempt to SALVAGE gold, silver, and jewels from the sunken remains of Spanish treasure ships.
SAT test writers have yet to show an interest in attempts to SALVAGE lost Spanish treasure. However, they are very interested in the ongoing project of a team of planetary scientists to SALVAGE seismic data from equipment left on the Moon’s surface by Apollo astronauts. Led by Renee Weber the researchers hope the SALVAGED data will yield new insights into what lies at the Moon’s center.
