On first glance, volcanoes and geysers appear to be very INCONGRUOUS or dissimilar natural phenomena that don’t belong together. But not so fast my friends! Although they vary in appearance and geographic location, volcanoes and geysers are ANALOGOUS or similar in one key aspect - they both emit hot liquids from below the Earth’ surface. Although it is tempting to believe that volcanoes and geysers are INCONGRUOUS, SAT test writers view them as ANALOGOUS natural phenomena.
