GOLDEN DOZEN - TERM 7: STAMP ACT

This key Period 3 term refers to the first direct British tax on the American colonies. The STAMP ACT required that many printed materials in the colonies be produced on stamped paper produced in London, carrying an embossed revenue stamp. The act was met with violent protests in America and was repealed in 1766.
